JANIS PAIGE'S APPLE DUMPLING
CAKE

1 1/2 c. chopped apples
1 c. raisins
1 pkg. (18.5 oz.) applesauce spice cake mix
Water
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/3 c. sour cream
3 eggs
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
Whipped topping

Spread apples and raisins evenly in greased (bottom only) 13 x 9 inch pan. Set aside.

In a large bowl, combine cake mix, 1/2 cup water, butter, sour cream, and eggs at low speed until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at highest speed. Spoon batter evenly over fruit in pan. In small saucepan heat 2 cups water and brown sugar to boiling. Pour over batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes or until wood pick inserted in center comes out clean.

Cool just until warm. Turn out on serving plate. Serve with whipped topping, if desired. Refrigerate any leftovers. To rewarm, cover pan with foil and heat at 350 degrees about 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 12 servings.
