APPLE CRUMBLE TOP PIE 
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
5-6 med. apples, peeled and thinly sliced
3 tbsp. lemon juice
Pastry for single-crust pie
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Dash nutmeg
1/4 c. butter

Combine "1/2" cup sugar and 2 tablespoons flour; add cinnamon and nutmeg. Sprinkle apple slices with lemon juice. Pour sugar mixture over apples and toss to coat. Pour into pie shell and pat gently. Combine remaining 1/2 cup sugar and flour.

Cut in the butter until crumbly. Sprinkle mixture atop apples. Cover edges of pie with foil. Bake 30 minutes at 375 degrees. Remove foil, bake for 30 more minutes or until topping is golden. Serve warm.
