CHRISTMAS SUGAR COOKIES 
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla
Color decorating sugars

Colored decorating sugars for top of cookies. Red or green or mixture.

Sift flour and salt onto waxed paper. Beat butter, sugar, and egg in large mixing bowl at high speed until fluffy. Add vanilla. Stir in flour mixture to make a stiff dough. Chill 3 hours or until firm. Roll dough, one quarter at a time, to a 1/4 inch thickness on a lightly floured board or cloth.
