DATE NUT CHEWS 
4 eggs
1/2 c. white Karo syrup
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. chopped nuts
1 1/2 c. chopped dates
1 pkg. cake mix (lemon or spice)

Beat eggs, syrup and sugar until slightly thick and lemon colored. Add cake mix, dates and nuts. Mix well. Bake in greased 9 x 13 inch pan.

Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Let cool for 15 minutes. Butter your hands and take out by the teaspoonful and roll into a firm ball. Then roll in powdered sugar. Store in tight-fitting jar.
