RHUBARB BREAD 
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. salad oil
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. soured or buttermilk
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. diced rhubarb
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Beat the sugar, oil and egg. Add dry ingredients, vanilla and milk to first mixture. Add rhubarb and nuts. Grease 2 loaf pans (medium size) or 3 small loaf pans. Pour mixture into them. (Can be baked without topping) or add topping which has been crumbled together and sprinkled on top of each loaf.

TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. butter
