EMPANADAS 
3 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. lard or shortening
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk

Stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in lard or shortening until mixture resembles cornmeal. To bake place empanadas on baking sheet brush tops with a little milk and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Bake in 400 degree oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

PUMPKIN FILLING:

1 (16 oz.) can pumpkin
1 c. packed dark brown sugar
3/4 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. raisins
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
