CARAMEL ANGEL BARS | |
1 pkg. angel food mix 1/2 c. butter 1/4 c. milk 1 c. packed brown sugar 1 3/4 c. powdered sugar 1 c. chopped salted nuts (peanuts) Line a jelly roll pan with foil, allowing foil to extend 1" beyond pan. Prepare cake. Turn batter into lined pan and spread evenly. Cut through batter with knife to remove air bubbles. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until top springs back to touch. Turn cake onto large tray and gently peel off foil. Cool. Heat butter, milk and brown sugar. Stir until sugar dissolves. Add powdered sugar. Remove from heat and beat until of spreading consistency. Add more powdered sugar, if necessary. Spread on cooled cake. Top with chopped nuts. Cut into finger size slices. |
