2 c. cornmeal
1 c. flour
2 heaping tsp. baking powder
1 sm. onion, grated
1 egg
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt

Mix all ingredients and add water until mixture is thick. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Drop into hot, deep fat, one teaspoonful at a time. Turn several times until golden brown.
