BUTTERSCOTCH OATMEAL COOKIES 
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. hot water
Walnut meats
1 pkg. butterscotch chips
2 c. oatmeal
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening and sugar. Add beaten eggs, then hot water. Add flour mixed with soda, add chopped nuts, oatmeal, vanilla, then butterscotch chips. Drop by spoonful on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees from 10 to 15 minutes.
