LARGE SANDWICH BISCUITS 
4 c. self-rising flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. shortening
1/4 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 2/3 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. butter, melted

Preheat oven to 500 degrees. With half the melted butter, grease bottom and sides of large baking sheet. Stir dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening until chunky. Mix in buttermilk with fork until moistened. Roll out to 3/4 inch thick. Cut with 3 inch cutter. Place with sides touching. Bake at 500 degrees for about 14 minutes or until browned. Remove from oven and brush tops with butter. Use with ham, hamburgers, sausage, etc.
