GREEK MEATBALLS | |
1 lb. lean hamburger 2 medium chopped onions 1 c light brown bread crumbs, crushed 1 1/2 c olive oil 1 c flour 2 tbsp mint leaf, chopped fine 1 lemon 2 1/2 c water or 1 NO. 2 can tomatoes salt and pepper to taste Mix all ingredients except oil and flour. Add salt and pepper to taste and mix well. Take 1 Tbsp at a time and roll in flour, shaping into small balls. Shake off excess flour and fry in very hot olive oil, over medium flame, for 10 minutes or until brown on all sides. Transfer to large bowl or platter and keep warm until served. Sprinkle with juice of 1 lemon. Serve hot or cold. Serves 6. |
