WHOLE WHEAT ROLLS OR BREAD | |
2 cakes of yeast 1/4 c. lukewarm water 1 tsp. sugar 2 c. milk 1/2 c. sugar 2 tbsp. shortening 2 eggs 5 c. whole wheat flour 2 tsp. salt Soften yeast in water to which has been added 1 teaspoon sugar. Scald milk and pour over 1/2 cup sugar and yeast. Add flour and salt. Allow to rise once to double in size, then shape into rolls or loaves and bake in 400 degree oven for approximately 20 minutes. |
