SNICKER CAKE 
1 box German chocolate cake mix
1 (14 oz.) pkg. Kraft caramels
1 stick butter
1/3 c. milk
3/4 c. chocolate chips

Prepare cake mix as directed on package. Pour half or little more than half into greased 9 x 13 inch pan.

Melt caramels, butter and milk together in double boiler or extra heavy saucepan. Remove cake from oven and pour caramel mixture over it. Top with chocolate chips and pecans. Dot remaining cake batter over the top and return to oven at 250 degrees for 20 minutes. Then turn oven to 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes longer. (Can be left unfrosted, or use a favorite frosting recipe if desired.)
