ROOT BEER 
1 tsp. dry yeast in 1/2 c. warm water
2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. beer extract

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add sugar and extract. Put into gallon jar. Fill the rest of the jar with lukewarm water; put a lid on it and let it stand at room temperature for 12 hours. Then refrigerate until well chilled. Serve with a scoop of ice cream in each glass.
