FONG'S FRY CHEESE WON TON | |
4 to 6 oz. Monterey Jack cheese 1 pkg. won ton wraps (square pasta wraps, found in supermarket near tofu in refrigerator section) Water Canola oil for deep frying (1 sm. bowl, 3 oz.) Cut cheese into little squares or oblong bits, 1/4 x 1/2 inch. Put 1 piece of cheese in middle of 1 won ton. Wrap won ton over cheese to form a square. Use drops of water to seal ends of won ton. (Put cheese in center, wrap won ton around cheese and squish ends together and seal with drops of water.) To cook: Deep fry in 1/2 inch canola oil until brown, approximately 1 minute each side. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with powdered sugar (if desired). |
