3/4 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda mixed with 2 c. applesauce
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 c. raisins (soaked in hot water and drained)

Bake in 9 x 12 x 2 pan at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Frost with a butter frosting or lemon butter frosting.
