CARAMEL APPLE CAKE 
1 3/4 c. flour
1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. butter, softened
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. apples
1 c. nuts, chopped
1/2 c. raisins (if desired)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, combine the first 9 ingredients and beat 3 minutes at medium speed. Stir in apples, nuts and raisins. Pour into greased 13 x 9 inch pan and bake 30 to 40 minutes. Cool and frost with the frosting below.

FROSTING:

1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 to 4 tsp. milk

Blend all together until smooth.
