CINNAMON SANDIES 
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tbsp. water
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 c. finely chopped nuts
2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter and 1/2 cup of the sugar; stir in vanilla and water. Add flour, mixing well. Stir in nuts. Shape small pieces of dough into crescents. Bake on an ungreased baking sheet in 300 degree oven for 20 minutes or until very lightly browned. Sift the remaining 1 cup powdered sugar and cinnamon together. Roll hot cookies in this mixture. Allow cookies to cool, then roll again in the sugar-spice mixture. Makes 5 dozen.
