SWEET POTATO PONE 
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. salt
1 qt. grated sweet potatoes
1 egg
3/4 c. cane syrup (molasses)
3 tbsp. butter
1 c. milk

Sift together dry ingredients. Combine these with remaining ingredients. Put the mixture in a greased baking dish. Bake at 250-300 degrees about 2 1/2 hours or until done, stirring occasionally, during first 2 hours of cooking. Discontinue stirring, allowing to brown. Serve as a dessert.
