SWISS STEAK 
1 1/2 to 2 lbs. lean round steak or chuck
1/2 c. flour
1 green pepper, chopped
1 onion, chopped
5-6 tbsp. salad oil
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1/2 tsp. ground oregano
1 sm. jar mushroom pieces
Salt and pepper to taste

With mallet, beat flour into meat. Cut into serving size pieces. In large skillet, saute green pepper and onion in oil until tender; remove from skillet. Brown meat; drain off all remaining oil and return meat and onion and green pepper to skillet. Add tomato sauce, oregano and mushrooms. Cover and cook slowly 1 1/2 hours. Serve over rice or noodles.
