DEIDRE'S HONEY BREAD | |
1 1/2 cups honey 1 1/2 cups milk 3/4 cup sugar 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 cups chopped walnut or pecans (optional) 1/3 cup shortening 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla Bring honey, milk and sugar to a boil then cool. Sift dry ingredients together, add the nuts (if using), then add shortening, eggs, and vanilla. Add the cooled honey mixture and beat for 2 minutes. Put into greased loaf pans. Bake at 350°F for one hour. Makes 2 loaves in large pans. Submitted by: Deidre Hill |
