2 c. sugar
2 c. water
2 tbsp. lard
3 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. salt
1 box lg. sticky raisins
1 or 2 apples, chopped

Boil 5 minutes; let cool. Add: 3 c. sifted flour 2 eggs 2 jiggers brandy or whiskey 1 c. chopped walnuts 1 c. chopped maraschino cherries

Use large round deep baking pan, greased and lined with wax paper. Bake 2 1/2 to 3 hours in 300 degree oven.
