OATMEAL PIE 
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. dark corn syrup
3 eggs
1 c. quick-cooking oatmeal
1 unbaked 9 inch pastry shell

Cream together butter and sugar. Add cloves, cinnamon and salt. Stir in syrup. Add eggs, one at a time, stirring after each addition, until blended. Stir in oatmeal. Pour into unbaked pastry shell. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) about 1 hour or until knife inserted halfway between edge and center comes out clean. Tastes a lot like pecan pie but is much less expensive to make.
