MOTHER'S SPECIAL PLUM PUDDING 
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 lb. sugar
6 eggs
1/2 pt. milk
1 1/4 lb. flour
2 tbsp. baking powder
1 grated nutmeg
1/4 oz. cloves (ground)
1/4 oz. ground mace
1 c. nuts
1 lb. dates
1 lb. raisins
1/2 lb. candied pineapple
1/2 lb. finely chopped suet
1/4 lb. candied cherries
1/8 lb. shredded citron
1 can coconut
1 c. fruit juice

Cream butter and add sugar. Add well beaten egg yolks. Then add milk. Next the flour alternately with the beaten egg whites. Add fruit juice and spices. Add the fruit dredged lightly with flour and the suet. Place in well greased molds or cans. Cover well and steam 5 or 6 hours. Serve warm with a hard sauce.
