NEW ENGLAND PLUM PUDDING | |
1 loaf stale bread 1 c. molasses 1 c. evaporated milk 1 c. boiling water 1 c. ground suet 1/2 c. currant jelly 1/2 c. chopped cranberries 1 c. raisins 2 eggs, beaten 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 c. milk Mix evaporated milk and boiling water. Add to dried broken bread. Let stand overnight. Add rest of ingredients; mix well. Fill greased crock. Bake at 225 degrees for 5 hours. Add 1 cup milk 1 hour before done. Remove and tip crock onto plate. Cool and serve with hard sauce. |
