FRENCH QUARTER GREEN BEANS | |
2 cans French style green beans, rinsed & drained 3 tbsp. butter 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 1 tsp. onion flakes 1 (8 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts, drained 1 clove garlic, crushed 1/4 tsp. salt & pepper 1 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese 1 (2 oz.) pkg. slivered almonds Drain and rinse beans. Melt butter in heavy pan. Add soup and cream cheese. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until cheese is melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in beans, onion flakes, chestnuts, garlic, salt and pepper and cheese. Spoon mixture into lightly greased casserole and top with almonds Sprinkle with paprika. Bake, uncovered at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Serves 8. |
