MARY'S NEVER FAIL ICE BOX ROLLS 
1 cake yeast or 1 package of dry yeast
1/4 c. lukewarm water
1 tsp. sugar
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. warm water
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt

Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water. Add 1 teaspoon sugar. In a bowl cream 1/3 cup sugar and 1/2 cup shortening, add 1 egg. Add 1 cup warm water. Beat. Add dissolved yeast cake. Beat in 4 cups flour and 1 teaspoon salt. Let rise, then press down, when doubled and roll out or put into the refrigerator. Make rolls as needed. Put in greased pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until brown. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
