CHILI RELLENOS CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. ground beef or chopped pork 1/2 c. chopped onion 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 2 (4 oz.) cans green chiles, cut in half crosswise & seeded 1 1/2 c. grated sharp cheddar cheese or you can use half with Monterey Jack cheese SECOND MIXTURE: In a mixing bowl combine: 1/2 c. flour 1 1/2 c. milk 1/2 tsp. salt Dash of pepper Beat until smooth. Brown meat and onion. Drain. Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper. Place half the chiles in a 10 x 6 x 1 1/2 inch baking dish. Sprinkle cheese on chiles, top with meat, add rest of chiles. Beat second mixture until smooth. Pour over casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes. Cool 5 minutes. Serves. |
