3 c. flour 1 c. shortening (I use Promise stick butter) 1 tsp. salt 1 egg, slightly beaten 1 tsp. vinegar 5 tbsp. cold water Blend flour, shortening, salt with pastry blender or 2 prong meat fork. Blend egg, vinegar and water and add all at once to flour mixture. Stir with fork to blend. Gather in balls. At this point, you can freeze the balls of dough or refrigerate until the next day. |
