FROSTED COFFEE COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg, unbeaten 1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. hot coffee
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Blend shortening with sugar; add egg, then hot coffee and stir well. Sift dry ingredients and combine with above. Add raisins and nuts; turn into cookie sheet (15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1). Spread evenly about 1/4 inch thick. Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Frost.

FROSTING:

1 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. melted butter
Little hot water

Blend. Frost cookie while warm. Then cool and cut into squares.
