CHERRY NUT POUND CAKE 
1 1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
1/3 tsp. vanilla flavoring
3 3/4 c. plain flour
3/4 c. milk
5 oz. maraschino cherries, chopped

Cream shortening and sugar. Add one egg at a time to this. Add flavorings; blend alternately flour and milk. Beat well. Fold in cherry. Pour into prepared tube pan. Place in cold oven, 275 degrees, for 2 hours.
