BRAIDED ONION BREAD 
1 pkg. yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1 c. sour cream
1 env. onion soup mix (dry)
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. butter, softened
3 eggs
6 1/2 to 6 3/4 c. flour, sifted
1 c. warm water
Sesame seeds

Sprinkle yeast into 1/4 cup warm water to soften. Using large bowl, combine sour cream, soup mix, baking soda, sugar, salt, butter, 2 beaten eggs, 1 cup warm water. Stir in yeast until smooth. Gradually add flour to form a stiff dough. Knead on floured board until smooth. Place dough in greased bowl, cover with towel, let rise until double size. Punch dough down. Divide into 6 parts. Roll into 15 inch strip. Braid three strips together; let rise. Brush braids with remaining beaten egg, sprinkle with seeds. Bake about 45 minutes until golden at 400 degrees. Cool and serve. Makes 2 loaves or braids.
