BEST MEATLOAF 
1 sm. onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp. oil
1/3 c. milk
1 egg
1/2 c. catsup
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. ground pork
1/2 lb. ground veal

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Saute onion in hot oil for 5 minutes; add garlic and cook 1 minute more. Combine milk, egg, and 1/4 cup catsup; stir in bread crumbs, salt, and pepper. Crumble the meats, add onion and milk mixture. Mix together until well combined. Shape into loaf. Spread remaining 1/4 cup catsup on top. Bake 1 1/2 hours. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing. Makes 12 slices.
