MOTHER'S JAPANESE FRUIT CAKE 
1 c. butter
3 c. flour
6 eggs
1 can coconut
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cloves
2 c. sugar
1 c. sweet milk
1 box raisins
1 c. pecans
2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream sugar and butter thoroughly. Beat eggs separately, add yolks. Sift dry ingredients together, adding alternately with milk. Add coconut, nuts, and raisins, which have been rolled in flour. Add egg whites last. Bake in 4 layers in moderate oven for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
