EGG NOG | |
6 egg yolks 1/2 c. granulated sugar 1 c. brandy or bourbon 1/3 c. rum 6 egg whites 2 c. heavy cream, whipped About 2 1/2 c. of milk Nutmeg Beat yolks until thick and lemon colored - gradually beat in sugar. SLOWLY stir in brandy and rum. Then fold in stiffly beaten egg whites, the whipped cream and milk as desired. Sprinkle with grated nutmeg and chill in ice box. Recipe says this is about 25 servings, but I doubt it - I made it - 9 eggs, 1 cup sugar, 2 cups bourbon, 2/3 cup rum, 3 bottles cream and 3 cups milk. Yield: punch bowl 3/4 full. It is good. |
