HOT WATER WHIPPED PIE CRUST | |
3/4 c. vegetable shortening 1/4 c. boiling water 1 tbsp. milk 2 c. plain flour 1 tsp. salt Put shortening in a mixing bowl. Add boiling water and milk. Tilt bowl and with rapid strokes, beating until mixture is creamy and holds soft peaks. Sift flour and salt together; add to mixture with round-the-bowl strokes until dough clings together and cleans bowl into smooth dough. Make a flat round and roll out between waxed paper. Makes two 9-inch flaky crusts. |
