BUTTERMILK BISCUITS 
2 c. sifted flour
3 tbsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. oil
1 tsp. salt

In a bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and oil. In a cup combine soda and buttermilk. Add to flour mixture. Place dough on a floured board. Knead until dough is smooth.

Roll out to a 1/2-inch thickness. With a sharp knife, cut into 3-inch circles. Place biscuits on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes until brown. Remove to a rack. Use a metal spatula or knife to remove biscuits from sheet. Serve immediately with butter. Serves 6.
