MINCEMEAT 
1 box raisins
1 box currants
7 1/2 c. apples, diced
1 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
3 c. cider
2 c. lean beef or venison, ground
1/4 lb. stick butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves

Simmer on low burner, stirring occasionally. Bake pies at 425 degrees for 30 minutes on bottom shelf. Mincemeat can be frozen in jars. (Makes approximately 3 quarts).
