APPLE SOUR CREAM COFFEE CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. sour cream
3 to 5 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

TOPPING:

1/2 c. nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. sugar

Combine butter and sugar until well blended. Add eggs; mix well. Add all dry ingredients; mix until blended, then add sour cream and vanilla. Grease and flour 10 inch tube pan; put 1/2 the batter in - sliced apples over that, then 1/2 the topping. Put in the remaining batter and sprinkle remaining topping over it. Bake for 40 minutes at 375 degrees or tester comes clean.
