SKILLET SCALLOPED POTATOES 
6 med. potatoes, pared and sliced thin
1 sm. onion, grated
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. water
1/2 c. cream
1/4 c. butter,. melted
1/2 c.grated sharp cheese
1/2 c. buttered bread crumbs

Place potatoes, onion, seasonings and water into a heavy skillet. Cover and cook to boiling. Lower heat and cook 20 minutes. Add cream, butter and cheese. Mix lightly. Top with crumbs. Cook, uncovered, on very low heat for 15 minutes. Serves 6.
