BANANA CAKE AND FROSTING 
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 mashed bananas (ripe)
2 beaten egg yolks
2 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
2 egg whites (beaten stiff)

Cream sugar and butter, add other ingredient, mixing well. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.

FROSTING:

1 c. milk
1 1/2 tbsp. corn starch

Cook until thick stirring constantly and until mixture is custard like. Cool. Cream:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla

Add cool custard mixture to cream mixture. Beat until fluffy.
