AUNT VENICE'S EGG NOG SAVANNAH STYLE | |
1 doz. eggs, separated 1/2 c. sugar 1 qt. milk Nutmeg 1 qt. heavy whip cream 1 qt. bottle Southern Comfort liquor (much better than rum for eggnog) Separate egg whites. Put yolks in extra large mixing bowl with sugar. Blend in mixer on high until light and fluffy. Add milk. Blend well. Pour in whipping cream while mixer is still running on very low. Pour liquor on beaters to blend. When done, wash beaters. In separate bowl whip up egg whites until stiff (only need about half) and slowly stir into egg nog. Top with nutmeg and chill at least 8 hours. It will warm you up!! Granny Cowart never drank a drop of alcohol, but she sure did enjoy this eggnog! |
