CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
1/2 cup Butter, softened
1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
1/2 cup Firmly Packed Dark Brown Sugar
1 Egg
1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
1 1/8 cups All-Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
pinch Salt
1 cup Chocolate Chips
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease two baking sheets.

2. With an electric mixer, cream together butter and the two sugars until mixture is light and fluffy.

3. In another bowl, mix the egg and vanilla extract. Gradually beat into the butter mixture. Sift over the flour, baking soda and salt. Stir to blend.

4. Add the chocolate chips and walnuts, mix to combine thoroughly.

5. Place heaping teaspoonfuls of the dough 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.

Bake for 10-15 minutes, until lightly colored. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
