4 oz. butter 1/2 c. finely sugar 3/4 c. all-purpose unbleached flour 4 oz. finely ground filbert nuts 2 c. whipping cream, chilled 8 oz. melted semi-sweet chocolate bits Shaved bittersweet chocolate Mix butter, sugar, flour and filberts until well blended. Draw 8 or 9-inch circles on 4 pieces of tin foil. Divide dough into 4 equal parts. Press dough to fill 4 circles. Carefully place sheets on cookie sheet(s). Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Do not remove tin foil until ready to assemble torte. Whip cream, fold in melted (not hot) chocolate. Layer each circle (after foil removed) with 1/3 whipped cream. Place shaved chocolate decoratively on top layer of whipped cream. |
