FRESH PEAS AND OKRA 
1 lb. crowder or black eyed peas
1 clove garlic, minced
1 sm. onion, chopped
4 c. water
Sm. pod of okra
Salt
pepper

Put peas in water, bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium heat. Add onion and garlic. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours. When peas are tender, season with salt and pepper to taste. Lay small pods of okra on top of peas. Cover and cook slowly for additional 25 to 30 minutes.
