APPLE CRUMB PIE 
2/3 c. sugar
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
6 to 8 tart apples, pared, cored and sliced (6 c.)
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Combine first 3 ingredients; stir into apples. Turn into unbaked pie shell.

Combine remaining flour, sugar and cinnamon; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake at 400 for 45-50 minutes or until done. If pie browns too quickly, cover edge with foil.

Sometimes I substitute brown sugar for the white when making the topping.
