EASY CHEESE BREAD 
12 slices French bread (each about 1-inch thick)
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
4 large cloves garlic (put through a garlic press)
1/2 tsp. dried Italian seasoning
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
2 cups grated cheese (I like a mixture of sharp Cheddar and Monterey Jack)

Combine butter, garlic and herb mix. Butter well one side of each piece of bread. Next, generously spread the same side with the cream cheese. Place on a foil-lined baking sheet and liberally top with the grated cheese. Bake in the upper level of a 400°F oven until bubbly.

Serves 6 to 8.
