APPLE CRISP 
4 c. sliced, pared tart apples (4 med.)
2/3-3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. all purpose flour
1/2 c. oats
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. butter, softened

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 8"x8"x2" square pan. Place apple slices in pan. Mix remaining ingredients thoroughly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake 30 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown. Serve warm. If desired serve with light cream or ice cream.
