OLD FASHION PEANUT BRITTLE 
2 c. white sugar
1 c. corn syrup
1/4 c. water
2 c. raw peanuts
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vinegar

Combine sugar, corn syrup and water. Cook to soft ball stage (with lid to cover tightly). Cook for 1-2 minutes, this keeps sugar from forming on sides of saucepan. When at soft ball stage, add peanuts and cook until mixture turns brown or dark. Remove from heat quickly add soda, salt and vinegar. Stir well, but not too long while still foaming. Pour onto buttered cookie sheet. When cool break in pieces.
