SOUTHERN PECAN PIE 
1 c. sugar
1 stick butter
3/4 c. light corn syrup

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat and blend hot mixture slowly into 3 beaten eggs. Stir in 1 3/4 cups pecans, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/8 teaspoon salt; blend well. Pour into unbaked 9 inch pie shell. Bake in moderate oven for 30 minutes at 375 degrees. Makes one 9 inch pie.
